St. Augustine’s 450 Years
St. Augustine was founded by Spain in 1565 and the city’s celebration is being unfurled throughout the next four years leading up to its official anniversary in 2015. Notable events will include the Bicentennial of the Spanish Constitution in 2012, the 500th anniversary of Ponce de Leon’s discovery of Florida in 2013, the marking of 50 years since the ratification of the Civil Rights Act in 2014, and the 450th anniversary of Saint Augustine in 2015.450years.com is a place where fellow Augustinians can organize, plan, discuss, debate, and share what they love and celebrate about St. Augustine, where visitors can become acquainted with the Oldest City and the events leading up to our 450th Commemoration.
